The Franco Costantini Bivouac, located at over 1,690 meters at the foot of Baba Grande / Velika Baba in the Canin mountain group, is a key reference point for hikers and mountaineers exploring this area of the Julian Alps.
Its panoramic position offers sweeping views of the surrounding peaks and the Val Resia below, providing a unique experience for mountain lovers.
The bivouac was built by the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) section of Manzano in 1981 and serves as a basic shelter in case of emergency or for short stops during traverses.
The structure is sturdy and well-maintained, accessible via hiking trails that cross rugged and wild landscapes, making it an ideal destination for trekking and climbing enthusiasts.
