Originally dating from the late 15th century, the building underwent a renovation in the 16th century, adopting the characteristics of Slovenian Gothic, thanks to craftsmen from the Škofija Loka school.
Particularly notable are the frescoes painted in 1530 by the artist Jernej of Škofija Loka, and the magnificent gilded altar, created in 1689 by the master carver Jernej Vrtar from Caporetto, adorned with rich decorations.
