The Museum of the People of Val Resia

The Museum of the People of Val Resia offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore both the tangible and intangible culture of this fascinating valley. You can admire traditional architecture, vintage furniture, and historical objects, with a permanent reconstruction of a typical kitchen and bedroom, as well as temporary exhibitions. In addition, the museum highlights the rich heritage of local tales, fables, and legends, presented alongside scientific studies in the dedicated section and temporary exhibits.

Located in Stolvizza/Solbica, a picturesque village in the Val Resia in the province of Udine, the museum sits at the foot of the majestic Mount Canin, the main peak of the Julian Prealps Natural Park. The museum is housed in the Casa Buttolo Ploc/Ta-par Plocavi, a characteristic dwelling dating back to the mid-18th century, renovated to reflect the local architectural style.
