The Church of Saints Peter and Paul | Centa

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul is located in the charming village of Centa, a hamlet of the municipality of Prepotto in the province of Udine.
This religious building, dating back to the early 16th century, was likely rebuilt after the damage caused by the earthquakes of 1511-1513. The church features a squared stone façade with an upper window and a bifora (two-lobed window) at the roof ridge, crowned by two bells. The roof is made of tiles, with stone slabs beneath the eaves.
The village of Centa, which developed around the church, is a cluster of houses, some of which date back to the medieval period, and it is first mentioned in 1533.
Today, the church stands as not only an important place of worship but also a symbol of the history and tradition of this fascinating area of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
