Torre valley

The Upper Torre Valley, located in the municipality of Lusevera, is one of the most beautiful and evocative valleys in Friuli. It is dominated by the Musi mountain range, which separates it from the Resia Valley. The most well-known natural and tourist attraction is the fascinating hypogean system of the Villanova Caves, which branches out into an endless web of tunnels and cavities. Those who want to explore this hidden world can follow the tourist trail—well-lit and equipped with comfortable walkways—or venture deeper into the inner sections of the cave.

At Pian dei Ciclamini, a cross-country ski trail begins, which in summer becomes a beautiful circuit for mountain biking. Nearby is also the “Path for Everyone”, designed with features that make it accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. The Julian Prealps Nature Park offers a variety of activities that take place along high mountain trails and ancient valley-bottom paths. The Ethnographic Museum of Lusevera, a true pride of the community, preserves a rich collection of objects linked to family and economic life in the Torre Valley. An expression of this cultural identity is also found in the tasty local recipes, such as ocikana (crumbled polenta seasoned with butter and cheese).
