The first church was built between the 14th and 15th centuries, during a period when devotion to Saint Abraham, a monk born near the Euphrates who is said to have made a pilgrimage to France, possibly passing through Friuli, in 473 AD, spread. The current building, dating back to 1535-1536 and constructed in Slovenian style, can be reached via a short and easy forest road that starts from the village.
On the outside, a dark stone head depicting a mitred abbot (probably Saint Abraham), presumably part of a statue, is embedded in the central part of the choir.
Inside, notable features include a 16th-century holy water font, a wooden crucifix, and a small 19th-century altarpiece dedicated to the Virgin.
