The Coot alpine farm, located at 1200 meters above sea level, is at the end of the Resia Valley, at the foot of the Small Baba of the Canin group. It is the only alpine farm still active in the valley and operates from mid-July to mid-September.
In the past, several farmers gathered their animals under a single herdsman who took care of them during the summer period. At the end of the season, the animal owners were rewarded with cheese wheels.
The Coot alpine farm is used for livestock breeding, particularly cattle, and cheese production. It is also possible to taste traditional local dishes and some beds are available.
For this reason, the farm is a reference point for nature lovers and hikers, offering the possibility to hike on nearby peaks as well as to the Canin hut, from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire valley and surrounding mountains.
Its location, isolated but charming, allows you to enjoy silence and peace, a true corner of paradise for those seeking to rediscover the peaceful rhythm of mountain life.
The farm is open from mid-June to mid-September.
