Probably built at the end of the 15th century, this votive building has been documented with certainty since 1601.
Originally Gothic in design, the church underwent significant architectural transformations in the 18th century. Despite this, it still retains a fine 17th-century holy water font and two 18th-century lamps. The masonry altar houses a plaster reproduction of the Baptism of Christ.
However, what makes this church a must-visit destination is its location, offering one of the most spectacular views of the Julian Alps. The trail that starts from Tribil Inferiore and leads to the 800-meter altitude of Mount San Giovanni is a 20-minute walk that is absolutely worth undertaking.
