Church of San Martino | Passo Prievalo

The first historical traces of a small church on the summit of Mount San Martino date back to 1299.

This is not surprising, considering the extraordinary panoramic view that this location offers. This spot has always had an important role, not only spiritual but also strategic; it is worth noting that in 1848 it served as the headquarters for 700 Austrian soldiers during the War of Independence.

From an artistic point of view, the small church does not offer much, except for the charm of its simple architectural lines. The 15th-century statue of Saint Martin has left only an empty niche.
